Hospitality NT Workforce

The NT Government has funded the hospitality industry association to deliver on a Hospitality NT Workforce Project in the Northern Territory. With the hospitality and tourism sector being a major pillar of the NT economy and with growth forecasted, the NT is keen to maximise opportunities for locals and to ensure that there is a sufficient workforce to sustain and grow this vibrant industry.

Hospitality NT Workforce Project Explained

The hospitality and tourism sector employs around 17,000 staff each year.  With a very high demand for staff across a wide range of roles, hospitality and tourism businesses and local employees will benefit from a focus on strengthening the workforce, building the skills of employees and attracting local staff to longer term career opportunities and development.  A planned and coordinated approach to developing the hospitality and tourism workforce will bring positive improvements for industry and locals.

Hospitality NT Workforce Seeking Employer Partners

We are keen to get hospitality and tourism businesses to sign up to the program. In return for this commitment businesses will be provided information on a range of employment and training opportunities and will be invited to directly engage with potential job seekers, trainers and employment agencies to promote career opportunities at your enterprise. Like minded enterprises will be asked to develop and implement local workforce plans and provide work experience and job placements for a range of aspiring hospitality careers. We are keen to establish local forums (Hospitality Workforce cluster groups) in Nhulunbuy, Jabiru, Tennant Creek, Katherine, Alice Springs, Palmerston, Darwin Rural, Darwin Northern Suburbs and Darwin CBD.

Hospitality NT Workforce Seeking Industry Partners

We are keen to get training providers, schools and employment providers to link up with and work with our local Hospitality Workforce cluster groups at a local level. We are also keen to ensure that our hospitality businesses know about all school and post-school training and employment programs and can access apprentice and trainee programs.

Hospitality NT Workforce Career Participants

We are keen to get locals employed and trained in the Hospitality Workforce. Whether you are a job seeker, an interested secondary school student or a tertiary student aspirant, if you want to have a go at working in our great industry then we will be keen to help you get started.

Hospitality NT Workforce Outcome

We are keen to give NT locals the best opportunity to enter into the hospitality and tourism sector and for our hospitality and tourism businesses to maximise the use of this available local resource.
