VET in Schools
VET In Schools provides students with basic skills and understanding of hospitality work. As students progress, there are opportunities for placements with businesses in the hospitality industry, and potentially in the long-term, for students to commence traineeships and apprenticeships that will enable them to become fully qualified and productive employees for hospitality businesses.
The Department of Education VET in Schools Procedures for Structured Work Placements (link here) provides further guidance for employers who may want to participate in placements for the over 300 students undertaking Hospitality related courses (link here) in VET in Schools in 2016.
